Natalia Wierzbicka

A doctoral student and research-teaching assistant at the Institute of Mechanical Technology, she graduated with a degree in biomedical engineering. Since 2016, initially as a student, she has been actively involved in organizing the Biomedical Engineering Conference. Her research interests mainly focus on tribology and the study of wear mechanisms, but she continues to work on 3D printing in orthopedics. She devotes her free time to nurturing her passions, such as sailing and traveling.

Michał Rychlik

Michał Rychlik

A professor at the Poznan University of Technology, holding a habilitation in biomedical engineering. With 20 years of experience in research and work in the field of biomedical engineering, particularly utilizing modern virtual engineering technologies. He completed a two-year internship at the University Center for Orthopedics, Traumatology, and Plastic Surgery at the Carl Gustav Carus Clinic in Dresden, as well as at the IMA Dresden laboratory. Over the years, his experience and knowledge have resulted in the development of new measurement and diagnostic methods used in medicine. He is the author of numerous articles, research papers, patents, and expert opinions for forensic medicine.

Filip Górski

Filip Górski

A professor at the Poznan University of Technology,  employed in Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Leader of a team specializing in CAD, VR, reverse engineering, and 3D printing in medicine, implementing projects such as the AutoMedPrint Project, which was awarded the main prize in the Polish Future Product competition. Author of numerous implementations, research, projects, and articles, largely dedicated to the application of modern digital technologies in medicine and biomedical engineering. In his spare time, he is a passionate electronic and rock music enthusiast - composer and multi-instrumentalist.

Jakub Grabski

Jakub Grabski

Assistant professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Vice Director of the Institute of Applied Mechanics for teaching matters, supervisor of the biomedical engineering program. His research interests focus on biomechanics, medical image processing, applications of artificial intelligence methods, mathematical modeling, and numerical methods in biomedical engineering. An animal lover, a fan of the city of Poznań, and traveling.

Adam Patalas

Assistant professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, holding a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering obtained from the Warsaw University of Technology. Since the beginning of his academic career, he has been involved in research in the field of biomedical engineering, particularly in the use of incremental methods in implant manufacturing and the study of bone-implant connections. Currently, his research primarily focuses on tribology and the study of wear mechanisms.

PhD student and assistant at the Institute of Computer Science. Graduate in biomedical engineering. Former chair of the Interfaculty Scientific Club PETARDA, which carried out projects related to the field of biomedical engineering. His research interests focus on neural engineering with an emphasis on brain–computer interfaces, signal processing, machine learning, and biomedical device design. The topic of his doctoral research is dedicated to non-invasive human–computer interfaces for monitoring neurorehabilitation in stroke patients.

Professionally involved in the use of modern technologies in the context of patient prosthetics. His scientific interests revolve around the use of Motion Capture systems, Biomechanics, 3D Scanning, and Artificial Intelligence. Privately, he is a basketball fan, enjoys traveling, and appreciates Japanese cuisine.

Her particular area of interest is the influence of surface structure on the sterility of medical devices.

Professionally, she is associated with the automotive industry (quality assurance and design). In her spare time, she travels extensively, plays tennis, and in winter she enjoys skiing or snowboarding.

His passion lies in replicating human tissues and developing realistic medical simulators.

Head of the Human Resources section of the D3DAL Student Research Group, which carries out projects related to the application of additive manufacturing technologies and XR in medicine. He is also interested in pre- and intraoperative models for surgical applications.

Emilia Smolarek

Graduate of both Bachelor’s and Master’s studies in Biomedical Engineering. PhD candidate at the Institute of Materials Technology, Poznan University of Technology, and clinical engineer at the University Clinical Hospital in Poznan. Her research interests have from the very beginning focused on additive manufacturing of surgical models supporting pre- and intraoperative planning. She finds the greatest satisfaction in knowing that the developed models provide real, practical support for medical teams. She thrives in close collaboration with physicians, including work conducted in the operating theatre, where she eagerly and attentively learns new skills. In her free time, she finds relaxation in embroidery and DIY projects.

PhD candidate at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Poznan University of Technology, and a graduate of Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Biomedical Engineering. In her research, she combines experimental studies and numerical analysis, investigating the mechanical properties of additively manufactured PEEK and PEEK-based composites for medical applications. Her interests include 3D printing, rapid prototyping of orthoses and prostheses, and biomedical-oriented design. Outside her scientific work, she enjoys an active lifestyle, from running and snowboarding to tennis and strength training.

A research associate at the Institute of Microtechnology at Technische Universität Braunschweig. She is involved in an interdisciplinary biomedical project aimed at developing a microsystem for whole-brain microscopy in Danio rerio to study changes induced by psychostimulant substances. In 2016, as a student at Poznan University of Technology, she initiated the organization of the Biomedical Engineering Conference, and she still remains deeply involved with it to this day!
